Jordi Costa (ジョルディ・コスタ) is a playable character from the Windjammers series. He is a former footballer and a representative from Spain.

Features and Analysis[]

4

Costa is a versatile character, capable of performing well in almost all areas of the game. He is the complete character par excellence. However, it has relative weaknesses, which do not come to hinder its general performance. This character is a good compromise to start in the game.

Summary[]

  • + Versatile effects for large and small pitches.
  • + Solid defensively.
  • + Dash long.
  • + At ease on all terrains.
  • + Easy to handle.
  • = Average movement speed.
  • = Average firing speed.
  • = Super interesting custom only from the baseline.
  • - Few deceitful effect variants.

Attack[]

Costa is neither an offensive nor a defensive character. He is located in a game observation sector which should lead him to adopt the most advantageous position. He is able to attack well, because he is also able to defend well and catch up on possible mistakes.

Defense[]

Despite a size less imposing than a Gary Scott or a Klaus Wessel, Jordi Costa is capable of a solid defense, served by a powerful game of slides and good resistance to the pushback of special shots. However, care must be taken to advance it very slightly more than a tall character during the defense phases.

Shots[]

Normals and Lobs[]

Good normals, which make the difference at the net. A short lob strategy often pays off with this character.

Effects[]

Mid-curve spin, but can be particularly awkward when advanced, and Costa is high up the pitch.

Super custom[]

A super custom that you have to know how to use: it is all the more effective when it is triggered far from the opponent. To catch up with it, all you have to do at the start is stay on the horizontal of the shot. But if this super is well used, that is to say far from the opponent, it becomes very difficult to know where to position yourself. In short, using this super when you are in a defensive position, far from the net, and preferably towards the middle of the field.

Super lob[]

Costa's strong point: it has the fastest startup in this field. It is a formidable weapon in his hands, which should not be deprived of use.

Super effect[]

On the other side of the coin, the startup is very slow here, and an informed player will be able to guess the super shot sent by judging by the simple length of the startup. This does not mean depriving yourself of this weapon.

Specific tips[]

In short, an effective game strategy with Costa comes down to staying on defense to wait for a toss opportunity, towards a super custom. In order not to be too predictable, the alternation with a game of short lob is desirable, with super lobs (be careful not to be surprised by a super lob reversal in attack) or super effects.

Hitboxes[]

Costa has a fairly balanced and stable hitbox. His dash is, with that of Biaggi, the most elongated in the game, enough to cover half of a small vertical field. But Costa's dash width is less than that of the Italian character and therefore he doesn't catch shots with his feet as easily.

Launch[]

Proof of the character's balance, Jordi Costa's throw is perfectly linear
